Living a life of fitness is not an easy thing. If it was everyone would do it. But I for one love the challenge, knowing that I can change or make my body into anything and get it to any level of performance I want. I like that I’m in control of that.

I’ve long since decided that I would never let anything hold me back. I have to admit that my motivations have changed over the years, I used to do it for attention then that changed to doing it for the ladies but by my mid 30s I had to do it for me. I had to start listening to my body.
As busy as we all are these days we always feel we should push our bodies to fatigue, beyond exhaustion even, but we never stop to think that in order for us to keep going we’ve got to consistently maintain it. Just like that 3 month, 3000 mile oil change or service you give your car. A visit to the doctors office every 6 months keeps you ahead of anything that may go wrong. And of course letting your body recovery is a no brainer. You’ve got to recharge your bio batteries. You don’t have to listen to me, your buddy will tell you all you need to know.

While on my vacation I had not worked out for almost 2 weeks because I had been so busy, I went jogging and I have to admit after only 20 minutes I was having a tough run. It felt like I had lead sneakers on. I didn’t stop I just realized that I had to slow it down and steady my pace, I even slowed down to a fast walk then gradually picked it up again. I have to listen to what my body is telling me. Fitness is about building, Accepting the long slow distance but at the same time respecting the process.
